My first new Martin that I've slightly customized over the years. Bought it new in 1990. I consider it my utility guitar.
- 1989 HD-28P- H = Herringbone, D = Dreadnought, P = low Profile neck. Sitka spruce top over dark Indian rosewood back and sides. I bought this guitar new in 1990 from a local music/jewelry store in Asheboro, NC.
Over the past few years I customized this guitar to look more like my 1946 D-28, with the through-saddle, large fretboard dots, oval tuners etc. When I use this guitar Alton uses his 2003 Gibson SJ.
