This page is to document most of the recording sessions Aton and Robert have been involved in since the early 1980s through and up to the present. These recordings were done at different venues and events from studio, radio, television, home recordings and live concerts. Recordings listed on this page before September, 1987 were before Alton and Robert met. Also recordings before Jan. 1992 are before they organized 'Original Formula'. Research work on archived recordings is being done by J. Michael Forbes of Discus Thrower Productions. This is a work in progress and newly discovered information and recordings are being found and updating this page is an on going process. Some of this material will be available on CDR.     Al and Rob's first known recorded session together; September, 1987 Here they are just trading off old songs they both were rasied on. Note Alton's fine mandolin playing on matrix# 9876 and 9877... Robert says.... "Two different recorders were used that night, Al brought one recorder with him that had just one built in mic to record in mono and the other I had there at the house, had two mics to record in stereo. We knew that we had our timing really tight together after playing these recordings back that night. I feel these are special recordings." Al and Rob met at a weekly jam organized by Randy,( Alton's brother), one week before these seven recordings heard here were made .
